How to help

Do you love animals too?

The association is the work of everyone who joins, supports and contributes. Not everyone can adopt, but there are lots of ways to be part of the sanctuary, from your sofa to the field.

Sponsorship

Can't adopt? Sponsor one of them. Help with food and vet care. And come and visit.

The sanctuary is home to companion animals and farm animals of all ages. They were taken in after abandonment, neglect or abuse, and each one needs feeding, play, walks and attention. Being a sponsor means following one of them closely: you can visit by appointment.

Become a member

You support the association as a whole: with a membership fee of €30 a year, you help the animals already here and those that still need us.

Under the statutes, both individuals and organisations can become members. Members receive the newsletter with news, photos of the animals and the association's events, and get a discount on the association's services, such as boarding.

Volunteering

Give the sanctuary your time: come and spend mornings with us, with walks, brushing, cleaning the shelters and plenty of cuddles.

As well as hands-on care of the animals, such as feeding, shearing or playing, we need help with campaigns and events. Start with an induction morning and then choose when you can come. From 18 years old, or from 16 with a responsibility declaration from a legal guardian, or from 8 years old accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Foster family

Take a dog from the sanctuary into your home for a while, as it waits for the family that will adopt it. For any age.

It's the best way to find out whether you have room in your life for a dog, and for the dog it's a first experience of a home. We agree everything with you before you start.

Seniors for Seniors

Bringing older people and animals together: visits to care homes, a senior animal from the sanctuary living with you, or the sanctuary taking in your animal.

  • Visits: we take the animals to care homes and day centres, or bring the residents to the sanctuary. The institution makes the request.
  • Senior pet-sitting: if you're 65 or over, one of our senior animals lives with you free of charge. We provide the food and medication.
  • Taking in your pet: if you're getting on in years and want your animal to be in good hands, the sanctuary will take it in. You just need to be a member and make a donation.

Little Guardians

For children aged 7 to 16: every 3 months they come to the sanctuary to meet the animals and learn how to look after them. It's free.

Each session combines time with the animals and a short lesson: animal welfare, how to approach a dog and basic care. There are two groups, ages 7 to 11 and 12 to 16, and a parent or guardian signs the child up.

Your animal's future

Worried about who will look after your animal if you have a long illness or die? We can make a care agreement with you.

With the agreement, your animal comes to live at the sanctuary when needed and continues to get the care and affection it has today. Talk to us so that together we can find a solution that gives you peace of mind.

  • You are a member of the association with your fees up to date, and you make a donation to the sanctuary when you sign the agreement
  • The animal must be microchipped, neutered and vaccinated
  • You can visit the sanctuary with your animal by appointment, and we can visit it at your home
  • We help with whatever you need, such as taking it to the vet and bringing it back
  • In the event of a long illness or death, or on a date we agree, the animal comes to live at the sanctuary

Donations

A one-off or monthly donation pays for vaccinations, surgery and winter hay.

The association relies on everyone's help to keep going. Donations pay for the care of the animals already here and let us rescue and shelter animals in critical situations. Donate on the website, for an animal of your choice or for whatever is most needed.
