Little Guardians

Learning about animals

Every 3 months, children come to the sanctuary to meet the animals up close and learn how to look after them. It's free.

The programme

A morning at the sanctuary, four times a year

Each session combines hands-on time with the animals and a short lesson, always with a member of the team.

  • Animal welfare: what an animal needs to live well
  • How to approach a dog calmly and safely
  • Basic care: food, water, brushing and shelter
  • Time with the sanctuary residents, from dogs to pigs and goats
