Who we are

The Santuário Animais sem Fronteiras (Animais sem Fronteiras Sanctuary, tax number (NIF) 515 387 665), with registered office at EN 4 km 23, 2890-160 Alcochete, is the controller of the personal data collected on this website and through our services. What data we collect

We only ask for what we need to respond to your request:

Adoption, sponsorship, fostering and volunteering requests: name, email, telephone, town, date of birth (for volunteering) and the answers you give us about your home and availability.
Boarding & Day Care bookings: your contact details, tax number (NIF) (if you would like a receipt with your NIF) and your animals' details (name, species, diet).
Donations, membership fees and sponsorships: the data needed to issue receipts and confirm payments.
Newsletter: your email address only.
Contact: whatever you write to us in the form.

What we use it for

To respond to your requests and manage your relationship with the sanctuary (adoption, sponsorship, fostering, volunteering, bookings).
To issue receipts and comply with legal and tax obligations.
To send you the newsletter, if you ask for it. You can unsubscribe at any time with one click in the email itself.

The legal basis is your consent, given when you submit a form, the performance of the request you make to us (for example, a booking) and compliance with legal obligations (receipts and accounting).

How long we keep it

Requests that do not go ahead: up to 12 months.
Adoption, fostering, volunteering and membership records: for as long as the relationship lasts and up to 5 years afterwards.
Receipts and payment data: 10 years, as required by tax law.
Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or transfer your data. We use service providers who process it solely on our behalf: database and website hosting (Supabase and Vercel), email delivery (Resend) and online payments (ifthenpay). All are subject to the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

Your rights

You may ask us at any time to access, rectify, erase or restrict the use of your data, to object to its processing or to take your data with you (data portability). Simply write to animaisemfronteiras@gmail.com. We reply within one month.

If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you may lodge a complaint with the Portuguese Data Protection Authority, Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (www.cnpd.pt).
