Seniors for Seniors

The old keep each other company

Three ways to bring older people and animals together: visits with our animals, a senior animal from the sanctuary living with you, or the sanctuary taking in your animal.

01 · Visits

Animal visits to care homes and day centres

We take the animals to care homes and day centres, or bring the residents to the sanctuary. The institution makes the request. We bring calm animals that are used to people, always with a member of the team.

  • We agree the dates and the number of animals with the institution
  • They can also visit the sanctuary, by appointment
  • No cost to the institution

02 · Senior pet-sitting

A senior for a senior

Aged 65 or over? Live with one of our senior animals, free of charge. The animal is still one of ours, and we stay by your side.

  1. Apply

Fill in the carer form on this page, or ask a family member for help.

  2. We talk

We'll call you to get to know each other and work out which animal suits you and your home.

  3. The animal goes home with you

If you can't come and collect it, we'll bring it to your home. It stays with you for as long as you can or wish.

  4. We stay close by

We visit you both from time to time and are always just a phone call away.

On us

  • Food, and medication when needed
  • Microchip, vaccinations and veterinary treatment
  • Transport, if you can't come to the sanctuary
  • Swapping animals or bringing it back, if your circumstances change

03 · Taking in your pet

Your animal in good hands

Getting on in years and want your animal to be in good hands? The sanctuary will take it in. With the care agreement, your animal comes to live at the sanctuary when needed and keeps getting the affection it has today.

  • You just need to be a member of the association and make a donation to the sanctuary when you sign the agreement
  • The animal must be microchipped, neutered and vaccinated
  • You can visit it at the sanctuary, by appointment

Fields marked * are required. A relative can fill this in, with the owner's details.

For people aged 65 or over.
Are you a member of the association?

This is for members, with a donation to the sanctuary when the agreement is signed.

You can become a member on the page Become a member. Read the care agreement.
