Boarding & Day Care
Booking terms and conditions
Updated on 5 October 2026.
This English version is provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.
1. Request and confirmation
A booking request made on the website does not guarantee a place. The Animais sem Fronteiras Sanctuary confirms availability and the price by email; the booking is guaranteed upon that confirmation. Payment is made by bank transfer, to the IBAN given in the request, quoting the booking reference.
The person responsible for the animal must be a member of the sanctuary. Only members whose membership fee is up to date may request a boarding stay or a day of day care on the website, using the email address and tax number (NIF) under which they are members; anyone who is not yet a member must join first. The booking is only confirmed if the membership is valid for the whole of the stay.
2. Opening hours
| Season | Monday to Saturday | Sunday |
|---|---|---|
| Summer (1 April to 30 September) | 9 am to 6 pm | 10 am to 5 pm |
| Winter (1 October to 31 March) | 9 am to 5 pm | 10 am to 4 pm |
- Check-in (arrival) is from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm (on Sundays, from 10 am).
- Check-out (departure) is from 2 pm until closing time: 6 pm in summer and 5 pm in winter; on Sundays, 5 pm in summer and 4 pm in winter.
- For day care, the dog arrives and leaves on the same day, within opening hours.
- In your request, please state the expected time of arrival and departure.
3. The stay
- The departure date may be extended or brought forward, by agreement with the sanctuary.
- Boarding and day care do not require any donation: you only need to be a member with your membership fee up to date. The price (from €15 per day, per dog) covers the animal's accommodation, basic care and food.
- The person responsible provides truthful information about the animal's health and behaviour, diet and medication.
- The person responsible collects the animal on the agreed date.
- In an emergency, the sanctuary will arrange the necessary veterinary care; any extraordinary expenses are borne by the person responsible.
- Females in season cannot be admitted.
- We advise you not to leave the animal's belongings (beds, toys, leads).
4. Vaccinations and health
Each dog must have the five compulsory vaccinations approved: rabies, the multivalent vaccine (distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and leptospirosis), kennel cough, leishmaniasis and heartworm (dirofilariasis) prevention.
- Each vaccination must have been given at least 15 days before arrival and be valid until the end of the stay.
- The owner uploads each vaccination, with photos of the health record, in the client area, under "My dogs". The team approves it or says what is missing.
- Without up-to-date vaccinations, the booking is not confirmed and the dog will not be admitted.
- Internal and external parasite treatment must have been carried out in the previous 30 days and is declared by the owner.
5. Baths
The bath on departure includes drying and brushing. The price depends on the dog's size and coat type and is added to the booking total.
6. Transport and taxi
The transport price is the price for the area, for the round trip. Pick-up only or drop-off only costs 60% of that price. The second and any further dogs from the same household pay half. For day care, transport is charged per day. The pet taxi follows the same table of areas.
7. Changes and cancellations
- Changes to dates, baths or transport, and cancellations, are arranged with the team.
- If the booking has already been paid and becomes cheaper, or is cancelled, at least 24 hours before arrival (counted from 9 am on the day of arrival), the amount overpaid becomes credit for the client. There are no cash refunds.
- With less than 24 hours' notice, the amount paid does not generate credit. The team may make an exception, with reasons, in justified situations.
8. Credit
- Credit is valid for 12 months from the date it is generated.
- It can be used, when paying, for boarding, day care, baths, transport, membership fees, events and monthly fees. The oldest credit is used first.
- The balance and expiry dates are shown in the client area.
- No receipt or invoice is issued when credit is generated. A payment made with credit is recorded with the payment method "credit"; the tax document is the one for the original payment.
9. Personal data
The data in the request is used to manage the booking, in accordance with the privacy policy.
