When you have to leave your dog, the question is always the same: where will it be happy? At the sanctuary, the answer is in the countryside, with room to run, the shade of the cork oaks and a team that loves dogs. And there's one advantage no hotel can offer: every stay helps care for the animals who live with us.
Boarding or day care
- Boarding: your dog spends as many nights here as you need, for example while you're on holiday or travelling.
- Day care: your dog spends the day with us and goes home in the late afternoon. It's ideal for long working days, for dogs who don't like being left alone, or if you want your dog to burn off energy and socialise.
Where your dog stays
The sanctuary has pens that take up to four dogs from the same household and lodgings with a private outdoor area for one or two. Each dog has its own space, its own bed and its own routines. In your request, tell us what your dog eats, any medication it takes and how it gets on with other dogs, so we can have everything ready before it arrives.
You can choose boarding with the sanctuary's food or bring your dog's own.
A bath before going home
Would you like your dog to go home clean? At the end of its boarding or day care we'll give it a bath, with drying and brushing. Just ask for it when you book.
Pick-up and drop-off
If you can't bring your dog or collect it, we'll come to you. Transport is priced by area and a second dog from the same household pays half. We also do transport only, for example to the vet, the airport or the groomer: it's our pet taxi.
Health comes first
To protect every dog, each one must have its compulsory vaccinations up to date and its worming done. The owner uploads the health records in the client area and the team checks them before arrival. The full requirements are set out in the booking terms.
Why it's different from a hotel
The association is a non-profit. Boarding and day care are a service for members: all you need is an up-to-date membership, with no donation required. The price (from €15 per day, per dog) covers your dog's accommodation, basic care and food, and helps keep the sanctuary going for our residents.
While you're away, your dog is in good hands, and the money you spend goes on caring for those who need it most.
How to book
Boarding and day care are for members with an up-to-date membership only. If you're not a member yet, you can become a member before sending your request. See the prices and send your request under Boarding and day care. Your request is only confirmed once we reply by email with availability. Payment is by bank transfer, to the IBAN given in the request, quoting your booking reference. At busy times, such as summer, Christmas and Easter, we recommend booking well in advance.
